About Bethlehem, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

A town in Barrow County, Georgia, Bethlehem is named after the community’s original church, which was established in 1796. This is the reason for its popularity despite its modest population. Its name was suggested by a well known song-writer and publisher, Judson L. Moore. Bethlehem is 11.4 miles south of Winder, 18 miles from Athens and 9 miles north of Monroe.

According to the US Census Bureau, the town covers 2.3 square miles. It is home to 652 people, which makes the population density of only 283.5 people per square mile.

As a majority of the population in the town is Christian – which is also why it also has a Biblical name, Bethlehem is always subject to some special activity during Christmas. A Nativity event takes place every year at the Town Square. It begins with the Story of Jesus being narrated by a seasoned story-teller, followed by Christmas carols sung by the choir. Refreshments are then served to mark the end of the event.

One of the best attractions in the city is the Bethlehem City Park, which includes a beautiful gazebo, picnic pavilion and a trail. The park also a separate kitchen and a couple of washrooms installed at the rear of the pavilion. You can enjoy and relax here in the evenings or at the weekend. There are also different rides for children to enjoy. If you are planning to visit this place, be sure to head downtown for some famous restaurants to wine and dine in.

When compared with other US cities, Bethlehem receives above average precipitation. It gets 50 inches of rainfall, but only 1 inch of rainfall each year. With 214 sunny days each year on average, the summers are hot and humid with temperatures up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. So, it is important to have a good air conditioning unit installed. And because the winters here aren't that cold, it is up to you whether you want a heat pump installed or not.
