Braselton is a large city that spreads across three Georgia counties - Barrow, Hall, Gwinnett and Jackson. The city is neighbor to Gainesville, Oakwood, Flowery Branch and Pendergrass. Atlanta is 53 miles northeast of this Braselton. According to the US Census Bureau, the city stretches over 12.5 square miles. The population of this city is 8,727 and the population density is 698.2 people per square mile.
The city is named after Susan Hosch; the daughter of a rich plantation owner. It was originally a piece of land purchased by Susan’s father that later become Braselton city. Kim Basinger, an actress and Georgia native, bought the city, but later she had to sell it at a big loss as she went bankrupt.
The city of Braselton has a rich heritage. This dynamic community is also home to the classy Chateau Elan Winery and Resort. According to a study, half a million people visit this place from all around the US every year. One of the most favorite landmarks of the city, the adjoined Chateau Elan Golf, attracts thousands of tourists each day.
The history of Braselton dates back to the 18th century. The Braselton Town Hall is the seat of the government, and was previously home of the Braselton Brothers. The city’s downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city has done well to preserve its prestige and heritage – just one glimpse of the historic landmarks will take you back in time in the 18th century.
Braselton is perfect for outdoor activities. During the summers, the average temperature is a modest 77 Fahrenheit degrees, but it would be a great idea to install reliable air conditioning for a more comfortable indoor environment.
