This city is home to 14,930 people. The population density is 1157.4 people per square mile.

It was a good place for early settlers. Creek Indians were the earliest settlers who named this city Snodon. Later, whites established farms and homes near this village in 1793 and the town was renamed in the same year.

Winder receives 50 inches of rainfall and 1 inch of snowfall every year. As the climate here is unexpected, residents are required to invest in air conditioners and heating systems. The temperature can come down to as low as 32 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter, which means the people living here have to invest in heaters.
