About Auburn, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The city of Auburn is located between Gwinnett and Barrow, both Georgia counties. Auburn is 27 miles west of Athens and 42 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. According to the US Census Bureau, the city covers 6.5 square miles. The city is home to 7,254 people.
The original plot of Auburn was drawn by the Seaboard Railroad Company in 1891. The rail line in Auburn bisects the Auburn center in an east-west direction. The history of Auburn had begun much earlier than the start of the railroad. After the Revolutionary War (1775-1781), efforts were made for settlers to move to Georgia.
The students in Auburn are served by the Mulberry Academy. It was opened in February, 1888. Many students came from different regions of the state to study, which is what led to the development of boarding houses. The story of this school was also mentioned in ‘The Story of Georgia Baptist’. The Claxon Monthly and the Auburn Messenger are the only two newspapers in this district.
There are many tourist attractions in this city, which include parks, historical sites, restaurants and shopping malls, etc. Some of the most famous parks include The Roy E.Parks Children’s Playground, the Auburn Ballpark and R.H Burrell Park.
All these parks offer a safe and secure environment for children to play in and for the parents to relax. The city’s downtown area is also a place that you must visit to have a beautiful experience of the restaurants, not to mention its exuberant and trendy night-life.
The city receives 51 inches of rainfall and only 1 inch of snowfall every year. With the average temperature of 79 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, having an air conditioner is necessary to keep your house cool and keep your family comfortable.
In winters, the temperature level can drop to 38 degrees Fahrenheit and it is recommended to invest in a quality heating pump to keep the temperature warm in the breezy winter nights.
