Hoschton is a city in Jackson County, Georgia. The largest city nearby is Braselton. According to the US Census Bureau, the city stretches over 2.8 square miles. There has been an increase of 0.3 square miles due to the subsequent annexations. The city is home to 1,415 people with population density of 505.4 people per square mile.
It was initially found by the Hoschton brothers in 1881. You may not know that Jackson County was named after the Revolutionary Patriot and statesman; however, it is also important to know that the Hoschton brothers were also one of the earliest settlers and war veterans.
Among the earliest people who came to the city settled in Sandy Creek and the Yamacutah. The city experienced steady economic growth and prosperity thanks to railroad development and tracks that due intersected the area, which were used for local trade. This city later became one of the most important railway routes in Georgia
There are many nearby attractions in the city that attract a lot of tourist attention, some of which include the Chateau Elan, Road Atlanta, Mayfield Dairy and the Crawford W. Long Museum. There is a string of antique shops you can visit as well to bring back some mementos with you. It is also home to a number of historic districts among which the most famous is Hoschton Depot. It was built in 1883 on a piece of land that was donated by Hoschton brothers to the government.
As this city lies on the south of the Blue Ridge, the climate of Hoschton is moderate and enjoyable for a variety of activities. The temperature in July can go as high as 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
